First-term senator was at a speaking engagement in his home state.
U.S. Senator Chris Van Hollen of Maryland suffered a stroke over the weekend and was admitted to George Washington University Hospital. On Sunday he stated, “An angiogram indicated that I had experienced a minor stroke in the form of a small venous tear at the back of my head.”
The senator continued, “I have been informed that there are no long-term effects or damage as a result of this incident, but my doctors have advised that out of an abundance of caution I remain under observation for a few days. I look forward to returning to work in the Senate later this week and thank the medical team for their excellent care.”
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- For Senator Van Hollen’s health and recovery.
- For the members of the Senate to be discerning as they consider current measures and legislation in front of them.
